Spillage at Lift Station 17, 2129 Muskingum Ave On February 13, 2017 the wastewater supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system went down. As a result all lift stations in Cocoa were not being monitored by SCADA at the time. Operation of the SCADA system was restored at 7:00 am the next morning. The alarm page showed lift station #17 was at High level. A wastewater crew responded and found pumps had tripped out and sewage was running out of the manhole at 2129 Muskingum Ave. in Cocoa. The station was reset and pumps started to draw the well down at 7:30 am on 2/14/2018. The City of Cocoa estimates the spillage at 3,750 gallons. Most of which ran into a storm drain. The wastewater Collection crew cleaned up the area with the Vac/Con truck and Pine Oil Disinfectant was put at the area. The storm water retention pond was dry, showing no spillage had reached the area. The State Warning Point Toll Free Number was called on February 14, 2018 at about 9:00 am to report the spill. Wastewater Collections reported the spill to Department of Environmental Protection's David Smicherko at 9:05 am. Sewer Plant Surge Tank Due to an excessive amount of rainfall on 2/11/2018. We had received 12.75 inches within 24 hours. The roadways and ditches were overflowing, thereby causing rainwater to enter into the system through manholes. The amount of flow exceeded the surge tanks flow rate and holding capacity. Approximately 9000 gallons ran over onto the ground running downhill into an adjacent drying bed, contained on site, the area between the tank and the drying bed has been cleaned and limed. 02/13/2018 17:49 EST City of Freeport WWTP 718 Earl Godwin Road; Freeport FL; 32439 Walton Bridget Hilgenberg Lead Operator & Office Manager bhilgenberg@freeportflorida.gov (850) 797-5032 Owner Of the Facility bhilgenberg@freeportflorida.gov (850) 797-5032 bhilgenberg@freeportflorida.gov 30.489826 -86.175414 02/11/2018 12:00 EST No 02/11/2018 13:30 EST Incident Location
Manhole 200 ft west of Fourmile Lift Station Due to an excessive amount of rainfall on 2/11/2018. We had received 12.75 inches within 24 hours. The roadways and ditches were overflowing, thereby causing rainwater to enter into the system through manholes. A manhole was leaking from around the lid, and the leakage was entering Fourmile Creek via an adjacent ditch. We estimate the spill to be 5600 gallons. The area has been cleaned and limed. Samples were taken from Fourmile Creek and sent to the Lab. 02/13/2018 17:40 EST City of Freeport WWTP 718 Earl Godwin Road; Freeport FL; 32439 Walton Bridget Hilgenberg Lead Operator & Office Manager bhilgenberg@freeportflorida.gov (850) 797-5032 Operator Of the Facility Bridget Hilgenberg (850) 797-5032 bhilgenberg@freeportflorida.gov 30.495066 -86.142186 02/11/2018 10:00 EST No 02/11/2018 19:20 EST N Incident Location

DWU WWTP Reclaimed Water Spill At about 8:40am today, DWU noticed our reclaimed water storage tanks overflowing. DWU made WWTP adjustments and was able to get the spill to stop around 11:10am. It was determined about 30,000 gallons of reclaimed water was discharged from the overflows to the ground at the WWTP. Of this amount, a small portion entered our onsite wetland that discharges to the east. 02/13/2018 17:20 EST Destin Water Users Wastewater Treatment Plant 14 Industrial Park Lane; Directions: End of Industrial Park Lane; Destin FL; 32541 Okaloosa Monica Autrey Operations Manager mautrey@dwuinc.com (850) 699-3665 Operator Of the Facility Lockwood Wernet (850) 200-2028 lwernet@dwuinc.com 30.393579 -86.479498 02/13/2018 08:40 EST No 02/13/2018 11:10 EST Incident Location
