Oakwood Blvd & N 26 Avenue A 6 inch diameter DIP force-main pipe developed a leak at appropriately 2:00 pm at the corner of the bridge near the C-10 canal. The flow trickled out until City of Hollywood Underground staff arrived at approximately 3:00-3:30 pm and took the connecting pump station off-line. Flows into the pump station were removed and re-routed using a Vactor truck. This will continue while the repair is being made. It is estimated that approximately a maximum of 400 gallons may have flowed into the canal. Tank Spill An employee was cleaning around the Auxiliary wastewater holding tanks on the south end of the hangar, in the process of work he bumped against a valve that cinnects to the bottom of one of the tanks. the valve popped off and water proceeded to shoot out, it shot over the containment trench and some of it escaped out of our hangar door. The employees on standby proceeded to block the jet off water using barrels so it wouldnt escape containment. I was immediately notified and sprinted down the hangar to the tank and re-stuck the valve pipe back in the hole and shut off the flow. some of the waste water reached the grass but most was contained in a drainage ditch, that we then had HEPACO come and transfer the water back to our holding tanks, it started rainining at the beginning of the pumping. There was released approximately 2000 gallons of wastewater from the tank, between the efforts of the employees, HEPACO,and myself i would estimate less than a thousands reached the grass. 2221 Buckman St A forklift was moving a muriatic acid tote on JEA's Buckman Wastewater Treatment Plant when the tote fell off, landed on the ground and split open releasing roughly 50 gallons of acid onto the asphalt. The tote was laying on its side after the incident with a slow drip coming from the opening on top. JFRD Hazmat crew was called out and placed dirt around the storm drains onsite to prevent any acid entering. The storm drains located on the plant are internal, all drains lead back to the plant. COJ Environmental Quality and DEP were onsite. Moran Environmental was called to remediate the situation. Wastewater overflow at Lemon St and Lincoln Ave On February 28, 2019, the City of Tampa Wastewater Department became aware of a wastewater overflow near the intersection of Lincoln Ave. and Lemon St. that occurred while a contractor was attempting to remove debris from a wastewater pipeline in order to rehabilitate the pipe. During the removal, a hole in a pipe that crosses through a box culvert developed and wastewater discharged into the box culvert. The overflow started at approximately 2:30pm and stopped at approximately 6:00pm. SR 54 and River Glen Blvd. 2/28/2019 Andrew Hooks received call from contractor D.A.B that they hit the 12'' Force main at 12:00 PM. Andrew Hooks called out crew to meet at spill site, Andrew hooks was the first responder on site at 12:45 PM, sewer was contained on site none entered any water basins near by or storm. Crew isolated the break at 1:00 Pm at which point the spill was stopped. Vactor arrived on site and begin retrieving liquids and retrieved approximately 1900 gallons. Contractors fixed the Force main break which was a 1'' corp that broke off the saddle, Contractor installed a 1'' plug.
