J Lawson Blvd & Boggy Creek Rd, Force Main ARV, 09-28-20 The discharge of wastewater was caused when a 3rd Party┐s vehicle hit an OCU Force Main Air Release Valve (ARV). The ARV is located approximately 700 feet southwest of the intersection of J Lawson Boulevard and Boggy Creek Road. The ARV broke off the assembly piping below the ball valve. The force main was isolated to end the discharge. The discharge flowed down grade on unpaved grassed surface and entered into an area with scrub vegetation. The discharge continued to flow towards a sandy area where it pooled with rain water and was recovered by staff. There is a stream located 600 feet from the area where the discharge pooled. An OCU engineer inspected the land between the area where discharge was observed to be pooling and the stream. There were no signs of overflow from the pooled discharge towards the stream. Also, no storm water systems were affected. The ARV assembly has been replaced and the system has returned to normal operation. The affected area has been washed down and deodorized. The approximate gallons released and recovered are estimated to be as follows: 6,000 gallons released, 30,000 gallons recovered, 0 gallons unrecovered, and 0 gallons discharged to surface water. There is little or no potential risk to public health, safety or welfare. 09/29/2020 09:05 EDT OCU Wastewater Force Main System 2351 J Lawson Blvd; Orlando FL; 32824 Orange Allison Lucente Engineer II Allison.Lucente@ocfl.net (407) 836-6944 Engineer II Troy Layton, Manager, Field Services (407) 254-9977 Troy.Layton@ocfl.net 28.374 -81.311 09/28/2020 09:35 EDT No 09/28/2020 11:20 EDT Incident Location
