Fort Pierce Utilities Authority An 8" duct tile iron force main had a longitudinal crack that resulted in a sewer spill. The incident occurred in the utility owned ROW at address 7021 Angle Road. The spill was isolated within 60 minutes of being notified. Roughly 1,500 gallons were spilled. An estimated 500 gallons entered a small ditch just south of the break. Efforts were made to clean the spill up with a Vac-con and lime. 05.08.23 Lost Creek Bridge FM Break Contractor working on 12" FM repair hit an unknown 2" service line. The release happened from 1700 to 1745 and released approx. 5,000 gallons. The line was repaired and a vac-truck was used for recovery. The area was limed. Hiawassee Rd & Crooked Lake Trl, ForceMain, 5-7-23 Incident Description: The discharge was caused by corrosion at the crown of a 24¿ ductile iron OCU Force Main, The discharge flowed a short distance on paved and unpaved surfaces along the west right-of-way of North Hiawassee Road and entered a storm water inlet which conveys runoff to a dry retention pond located south of the discharge location. Field Services diverted upstream flow to the force main to deactivate and repair the main. Staff also utilized tanker and cleaner trucks to recover wastewater from impacted areas. Bay landings west lift station break The pipe from the lift station going to the force main ruptured causing a spill to occur. The raw water did not intercept any public creek or water way. The incident was discovered at 8am this morning and is consistently pumped to ensure that there aren't any more overflows until the repairs are completed. The roadways will disinfected as soon as cleanup is completed. The roadway, ditch, storm drain, and lift station building has been cleaned out. 800 Cattleman Road 050623 Crews responded to a forcemain break at 800 Cattlemen Road. Upon arrival they discovered a construction contractor working on the Cattleman Road project hit a 4¿ forcemain while excavating. The forcemain was isolated and the segment of pipe was replaced. Approximately 4,800 gallons of sewage spilled into the excavation site the contractor was using. Approximately 4,800 gallons of sewage was recovered from the site. No surface waters were impacted, no sampling is required. Clean up and notifications are proceeding per protocol.
