8420 Doris Ave We had a Sewer Spill from a Manhole due to heavy rain today. It was over 1,000 gallons and did reach a holding pond but, was also in the street. Samples have been requested, so as for now it is unknown if it reached a body of water. We will provide more information about the spill tomorrow. Amended 7-30-20: The sanitary sewer over flow was 12,455 gallons with 8,080 gallons recovered and transported to the treatment facility. Oily Waste Spill At approximately 1400 a vacuum truck used to manage oily waste water spilled approximately 150 gal on to the ground. Spill at Port Orange WRF Barscreen tripped at approximately 04:00 hrs. and raw sewage overflowed the pretreatment station. Overflow was intermittent. Reset breaker and it tripped again a couple of hours later. HTH was applied and the area was hosed down. Pretreatment Structure was bypassed. Two new Barscreens are in the process of being installed and should be operational in the next thirty days. 21150 Gertrude Ave. Crews responded to a force main break at 21150 Gertrude Ave. 7/29/2020@7:45am. Gianetti Contracting Corp. performing work for Charlotte County Utilities drove heavy equipment over a steel plate protecting an 8" AC force main. The steel plate sunk into the ground breaking the main. crews isolated the leak by valving and lift station shutdown 7/29/2020@8:30am. The line was repaired and placed back into service 7/29/2020@9:55am. Approx 1,200 gallons of wastewater spilled with 1,100 being recovered by vacuum truck. The remaining 100 not recovered had percolated into the excavated soil which will be removed by the contractor. The area was washed down and limed. No storm drains or waterways were affected. Lift Station # 86 A Force Main Break Resident called the City and said sewer was seeping out from under the sidewalk. We dispatched a crew and discovered a force main break after removing the sidewalk and exposing the pipe. The crew shut down the lift station and repair the force main with a 4 inch clamp.
