City of Sarasota AWWTP 1850 12th Street Sarasota City crews saw water just starting to come over the side of the inlet structure while bringing the fermentation splitter box back online after a bypass project. Operators were immediately warned and made their way to the inlet structure. The overflow was caused by back pressure in the system while bringing the fermentation splitter box back online. It lasted approximately 5 minutes. Approximately 2,000 gallons of wastewater was discharged. The spill was contained on site and all storm water drains were blocked before flow could reach them. The area was disinfected with lime, hosed down and cleaned up using a vactor truck. 04/17/2018 08:37 EDT City of Sarasota AWWTP 1750 12th Street; Sarasota FL; 34236 Sarasota Verne Hall Utilities General Manager verne.hall@sarasotafl.gov (941) 661-1347 Owner Of the Facility Verne Hall (941) 661-1347 verne.hall@sarasotafl.gov 27.347738 -82.532724 04/16/2018 16:15 EDT No 04/16/2018 16:20 EDT Incident Location
