North Powers Drive, Force Main ARV, 10-15-20 The discharge of untreated wastewater was caused by a broken ARV assembly. It is suspected that a vehicle may have hit the ARV pit lid and displaced it and also caused damage to the ARV assembly. The ARV assembly was broken off below the isolation valve. Wastewater flowed from the ARV onto adjacent sidewalk and the grassed area between sidewalk and curb, and then flowed south. Some wastewater flowed into the gutter and entered a storm water inlet located along the west side of North Powers Dive. 3000 gallons of wastewater was recovered from the discharge location, grassed areas and gutter in the vicinity of the ARV. Some discharge soaked into the grassed area between the curb and gutter. The storm water system was inspected but found to be dry. The storm system was traced to a dry retention area but the location was dry. Field Services staff isolated the force main to stop the discharge and replace the assembly. All impacted surfaces were washed down and deodorized. The approximate gallons released and recovered are estimated to be as follows: 4000 gallons released, 3000 gallons recovered, 1000 gallons unrecovered, and 0 gallons discharged to surface water. There is little or no potential risk to public health, safety or welfare. 10/16/2020 14:57 EDT OCU Wastewater Force Main System North Powers Drive; Orlando FL; 32808 Orange Eduardo C.
