Tyndall Road and Govreau Road Andrew Hooks received call from Utility Dispatch at 7:32 AM that Air Release Valve was reported leaking. Andrew Hooks called Jordan Shoti to investigate, Mr. Shoti arrived on site at 7:40 AM and witnessed the ARV was broken at 2'' SCH 80 nipple and spilling. At 7:45 AM Mr. Shoti closed the 2'' ball valve and stopped the spill. Mr. Hooks called out a vactor truck and sludge truck to retrieve sewer spill, estimated spill at 9,000 gallons. Mr. Hircock was notified of spill, crew spread a total of 6- 60 pound bags of lime and retrieved a total of 10,000 gallons and washed down with 600 gallons of clean water. Looks like cause of spill was ARV hit by vehicle. ARV was reinstalled and 2'' nipple replaced. P/S 1-419 26400 Florida Power Road Called for sewage spilling due to contractor hit on 6" force main pipe. On call personnel were dispatched with break trucks,vactor and sludge trucks. All sewage contained in quarry area where contractor was digging to install new p/s. Locates had been called in, pipe is an abandoned line not on any prints. Crew performed a shut down process and were able to cease spill and repair broken pipe. Cleanup to area was performed and follow up will be conducted. Walenda overflow 6/20/2019 Notified at approx. 06:50 on 06/20/2019 storage tank overflowing. Sent personnel to investigate, found it overflowing, manually shut fill valve. City of Sarasota Spring Creek Drive Spill A contractor installing a new natural gas service line broke an 8" force main located at 1753 Spring Creek Drive. City crews responded to the scene and shut down the lift stations that pump into the force main and erected a barrier to contain the spill. Tanker trucks were used to transfer wastewater from the lift stations to avoid further issues while the line was being repaired. Approximately 300 gallons of raw wastewater was spilled in the street. The spill was contained on the street and along the curbing, no surface waters were impacted. The broken force main was repaired and the lift stations were placed back in service. Sanchez Rd and Plaza Gate Ln S A 6" split in a force main was releasing sewer onto the ground and into a storm drain that leads to Goodby's Creek. A vacuum truck maintained the release until the pipe was repaired.
