Dutton Island Preserve

The City of Atlantic Beach's 38 acre Dutton Island Preserve is a pristine salt marsh, pine flatwoods and live oak hammock ecosystem. The Preserve is located north of the Atlantic Boulevard ICW Bridge, immediately west of the City of Jacksonville's Dutton Island Park and Preserve expansion. A visit to this Preserve offers numerous scenic and water-based recreational opportunities. Be it a peaceful stroll or fast paced biking/jogging jaunt, you'll find a lovely water vista, scenic native vegetation, wildlife or a quick intracoastal breeze around every turn. Park goers can enjoy a picnic with the convenience of park facilities including covered tables and grills. Camping areas with fire rings, restrooms and an outdoor shower are also available. For more active enjoyment of the coastal environment there's a fishing pier, dock and canoe/kayak launch. The Preserve is a destination off the Jacksonville Intracoastal Waterway Salt Marsh Paddling Trail which connects this preserve with the City's nearby Tideviews Preserve and Jacksonville's adjacent Dutton Island Park and Preserve.
