Gary Maidhof Walk to Nature Park

The Gary Maidhof Walk to Nature Park offers a boardwalk nature trail with scenic overlooks and interpretive displays that lead to a wildlife viewing area overlooking a tidal sawgrass marsh habitat. Located adjacent to the Salt River, this pristine habitat is home to many species of wading birds that use the needle rush and cordgrass marsh habitat for foraging. The adjacent Academy of Environmental Sciences School offers Astronomy Programs several times per year along the boardwalk. A newly completed parking area provides ADA accessibility to the boardwalk nature trail. Recreational amenities include a wildlife observation area, a boardwalk nature trail and interpretive signage.
