Hogtown Creek Greenway

The Hogtown Creek Greenway encompasses 13 individual conservation areas, totaling over 700 acres of forests and wetlands surrounding Hogtown and Possum Creeks. The Greenway protects water quality and a diverse array of upland and wetland wildlife habitat while providing a variety of passive recreational opportunities in the heart of Gainesville. From the fern-covered slopes near the north end of the greenway, through the broad, flat floodplain near Loblolly Woods, to the dramatic limestone outcrops and sinkholes at the greenway's southern end, the greenway includes much of the creek's course through its urban setting. Hiking, birdwatching, bicycling, and just getting away from the hubbub of the city are popular activities.
