
Castaway Island Preserve
Located along the Intracoastal Waterway, Castaway Island Preserve entices visitors with its marshy banks and intricate marsh ecosystem that is ideal for spotting marshland wildlife. The nature enthusiast may stroll along the preserve's nature trails, enjoy a picnic, observe marshland wildlife from a wooden boardwalk or just take in the beautiful surroundings. Other amenities available at the 312-acre preserve include a canoe/kayak launch, special interactive trail, hummingbird and butterfly garden, information kiosk and theater-style education center used to educate the public about the flora and fauna of Northeast Florida.
