Peace River Park

Peace River Park is a 152-acre parcel of land located south of County Road 64A and north of County Road 652, on the west side of the Peace River within the Wauchula City limits. The area consists primarily of mixed hardwood floodplain forested wetlands. Peace River Park is located in the middle of the 67-mile corridor proclaimed as the Peace River Greenway in 1995 by Governor Lawton Chiles. The majority of the Peace River Park tract has never been significantly altered or developed for agriculture or other land uses. The project is managed to preserve the mixed bottomland hardwood forest, improve public access to Peace River, and to provide optimal wildlife habitat, outdoor recreation and environmental education opportunities.
