Bell Creek Nature Preserve
The 597-acre Bell Creek Preserve is home to a diversity of habitat types, including a rare scrub area which supports one of the largest known populations of the endangered Florida golden aster. The five-mile hiking trail will lead visitors through this and other areas such as flatwoods, sandhill, and open grasslands for a glimpse of the wildlife that call these areas home. For those interested it, also, can be seen as an example of the interplay of suburban/urban encroachment with a natural area.
