Violet Cury Preserve
An oasis of wilderness surrounded by residential development, this 160-acre sanctuary contains examples of natural habitats such as pine flatwoods, oak hammock, and freshwater marsh, which support a diverse array of unusual wildlife. For those interested it can be used as an example of the effects of fire being suppressed over a long period of time. Approximately 2¿ miles of hiking trails wind through examples of these habitats throughout the preserve and at the heart of the site is Lake Flynn.
