Santa Lucea

Santa Lucea is a five-acre natural area located along the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway on the southern portion of Hutchinson Island. The site includes high quality beach dune, coastal strand, maritime hammock, and tidal swamp habitats. One acre of the site was recently restored using volunteer labor to install over 2,000 native coastal plants. Site amenities include an ADA accessible shellrock parking area, sidewalks and a dune crossover, showers, bike racks, and interpretive signage focusing on the archaeological significance of the area. Beach access is provided from the parking lot by way of a dune crossover through native vegetation.
