Alpine Groves Park

Alpine Groves Park is home to a mile-and-a-quarter nature trail that runs through what used to be an orange grove and is now home to beautiful Magnolia and Oak trees. This trail provides a number of wonderful birding opportunities as the park is home to pelliated woodpeckers, red-shouldered hawks and a bald eagle during their nesting season. The park interprets a 19th century farm and promotes environmental and historical education. Some unique features on the property include a restored 1800's farmhouse, orange packing barn and horse stables.

There's a new farmers market in northeast Florida! Every Saturday from 10a.m. - 2p.m., the St. Johns River Farmers Market is held in Alpine Groves Park. This weekly market features local produce, plants, homemade food products, arts, crafts, and much more. The Grand Opening was August 26 in this lovely 54.5 acre park located at 2060 State Road 13 in Switzerland, Florida. The park is bordered on the west by the picturesque St. Johns River and contains three historic structures that help educate visitors about the rich citrus history of this area. There are still remnants of the orange and lemon groves that were once on this site.
