Cocoa Beach Maritime Hammock Preserve

The project site is located just north of the intersection of State Road A1A and Cocoa Isles Boulevard in the City of Cocoa Beach. The purposes of the project include providing open space and recreational opportunities and addressing stormwater management along a major evacuation route. Proposed management activities include removing exotics and restoring the maritime hammock community. The applicant will also create a one-acre stormwater pond to provide recreational opportunities and to treat stormwater before it enters the Banana River. Recreational improvements include a wildlife observation deck, tether ball court, picnic pavilion, and trails.
