
Mill Creek Preserve
Mill Creek Preserve is located five miles north of the city of Alachua and is 1,200 acres in size. The Preseve consists mainly of slope forest associated with the Mill Creek drainage system. These forests are mostly magnificent mature forests of oak, hickory, basswood, maple, beech and Southern magnolia in excellent condition. Mill Creek Preserve provides excellent opportunities for resource-based recreation, such as hiking trails, scenic overlooks, wildlife observation, and natural and cultural interpretive and educational programs.
