Crooked River Lighthouse Park
Crooked River Lighthouse Park is nestled into the north Florida forest along US98. A replica of the Keepers House rebuilt on location serves as a museum and education center where visitors can experience the historical setting of the early 1900s, learn about beacons and methods of constructing a skeletal tower lighthouse or peruse the museum gift shop. The Carrabelle Lighthouse Association manages the 2 acre park site and adjacent historic lighthouse with the goal of preserving this cultural resource and providing recreation, education and public access to the lighthouse. In addition to the Keepers House, visitors can enjoy the picnic pavilion, walking trail, large maritime theme playground or climbing to the top of the 1895 Crooked River Lighthouse. The Keeper's House/Museum is open from noon until 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. At night you can spot the park site as the lighthouse beams nightly, with an acrylic replica of its original 4th order Fresnel lens.
