Lake Tuscawilla
Lake Tuscawilla consists of a wet prairie and uplands adjacent to the southern boundary of the town of Micanopy, near Paynes Prairie Preserve. Tuscawilla was described by William Bartram in 1774 in his visit to the Village of Cowkeeper; today, the area is a stop on the Bartram Trail. The site provides a scenic perspective for travelers rivaling that of Paynes Prairie from US 441 and is within walking distance of the antique shopping district of downtown Micanopy. Park at the adjacent FCT funded Native American Heritage Preserve.
