
Coontie Hatchee Park
This is a 2.6 acre remnant pine flatwood with a canopy of mature slash pine, cabbage palm and live oak. The understory had been removed and is currently maintained as mowed lawn. The eastern portion has a pavilion with picnic tables and several benches along the 200 feet of sea-wall adjoining the South Fork of the New River. On the western side parking is provided with benches, pavilions, picnic tables, a fitness trail, and several playground structures for more active recreational opportunities in the Riverside Park neighborhood.
