Freedom Park

Freedom Park is an approximately 50-acre natural water quality treatment facility, which provides flooding relief and tertiary
treatment of stormwater runoff from the Gordon River Extension Basin. Based on the application of an interconnected system of
multi-depth ponds, polishing marshes, and wetlands, the man-made park functions as a natural filtration system similar to the Everglades. The project combines wetlands, habitats, trails, boardwalks, observation gazebos, educational facilities, and extensive
indigenous landscape within a passive park setting.
