Scotty's Cove Conservation Area aka Lake Toho Community Park
Scotty's Cove Conservation Area is a 12 acre park, located on Lake Tohopekaliga in Osceola County, is an official canoe/kayak stop on the Shingle Creek Paddling Trail. The site of a former 80-slip marina and restaurant is now the launching point for water-borne fun and adventure. Lake Tohopekaliga is nationally regarded as one of the country¿s top recreational freshwater fishing locations. The park provides much needed and in demand shoreline access to the lake. It is ideally located as a launching point for canoeists that use the Shingle Creek/ Lake Tohopekaliga Canoe Trail. The park has been equipped with a canoe/kayak launch, picnic pavilion, nature/fitness trail, a playground, bike racks and a parking area. The site hosts iconic flora and fauna such as a mesic oak flatwoods, a bald cypress stand and fresh water marsh wetlands that are home for osprey, limpkin, sandhill cranes, great blue heron, anhinga, songbirds and red belly turtles.
