Lake Chautauqua Equestrian and Nature Preserve

The Lake Chautauqua Equestrian and Nature Preserve is located adjacent to the city-owned Lake Chautauqua Park and camp Soule Boy Scout Camp. The park provides an urban passive nature park with equestrian facilities and 1.6 miles of multi purpose trails which wind through the senic property. The site contains scrubby and mesic flatwoods, which are recognized as providing suitable habitat for gopher tortoises. In conjunction with adjacent conservation lands, preservation of the project site will provide suitable habitat for listed gopher tortoises. Recreational improvements include a parking lot with trailer parking, shaded picnic pavilion, horse watering and wash station and 1.6 miles of nature trails.
