County Line Scrub Preserve

County Line Scrub Preserve is surrounded by commercial and residential development and is one of only two remaining native uplands in Miami-Dade County. The preserve consists of 15 acres of scrubby flatwoods, mesic hammock, exotic-dominated scrub, and mowed firebreaks on an L-shaped parcel. Scrubby flatwoods and mesic hammock plant communities are rare in Miami- Dade County and the County Line Scrub Preserve represents a small remnant of an old and formerly extensive ecosystem that once stretched southward from Palm Beach County over many square miles. The site is located east of the AT&T building.
