Ocean Hammock Park

Ocean Hammock Park is located along A1A Beach Boulevard and the Atlantic Ocean in the City of St. Augustine Beach. The property provides habitat or nesting grounds for a variety of animal species, including loggerhead, green and leatherback sea turtles, gopher tortoises, and the Anastasia Island beach mouse. The acquisition increases connectivity to other parks and natural areas in the city, as well as the national East Coast Greenway and the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail. The proposed recreational amenities include a nature trail, kayak facilities, camping areas by permit, wildlife observation deck, and picnic pavilions. In addition, the acquisition will allow the city to provide direct public access to the Atlantic Ocean by way of a raised dune walkover and create much needed off-beach parking areas.
